If you are interested in learning more about this TRANSCULTURALP2P ACTIVSM thing and the idea of doing development viapersonal collaboration, international transfer of knowledge and a toolkit, wewould like to welcome you for SNACK’n DRINKS and roundtable talks:
For finalizing the FIRST PILOT PROJECT (from May until July 2014) we invited all participants to discuss their experiences of German-African tandem collaboration and to continuing their intensive exchange as well as to network and further develop the tandem’s project ideas. Besides evaluating the TOOLKIT, its content, its design - creating a CSO NETWORK MAP were one of the schedule’s topics. Other interested people were ask to take part - in particular the keynote lecture Funding and Marketing German-African Civil Society Collaboration (Christian Gahrmann || www.philanthropy-consulting.eu) were open to the public.
The WORKSHOP was a valuable and advancing event and generated helpful out-put. It succeeded to create a participative creative atmosphere and especially the second day of the workshop offered an important component for the peer-to-peer-process of acting, and planning between the matched participants…and cooking! Jeffrey led the lunch project to a perfect meal!
As part of the TOOLKIT PROJECT we also created a CSO NETWORK MAP to visualize the actors, organizations and networks of German-African CSO activism as well as possible connections or future collaborations. The map is supposed to grow and to be completed by you! The free mind mapping tool Text 2 Mind Map helps us to realize this vision:
To support the activities of civil society in Germany and in African countries, a team of German-African activists has created the Toolkit “Activism in a Box”. The Toolkit is designed to reduce the costs of communication, enable the efficient exchange of information and minimize the effort of setting up new German-African collaborations. As part of the project, 10 selected initiatives from Kenya and Germany were brought together and supported in joint project development.
Today a group of 20 intersted and engaged people from Kenia and Germany meet in Berlin-Kreuzberg to have a detaild look on the challenges of German-African collaborations in the field of civiel society activism.
They will share their experiences of several months of collaboration duirung our pilot project, give a critical feedback and think of new ways to foster future exchange between CSO’s in African countries and Gemany.
The Workshop is getting closer and the preparations are in full swing. Also the printed version of the TOOLKIT’s FIRST EDITION is ready for critical review, handling and inspiring German-African caollaboration!
The TOOLKIT FAMILIY is really looking forward to these two days of exchange, discussion and solution finding like: which kind of binding technique will be the best for fixing 30 cards full of information and guiding ideas?
We are very very very very excited! Only 2 days left and we can finally meet each other personally! We would like to invite you all officially to our TOOLKIT WORKSHOP on 18th and 19th of September in Berlin. These two days will be devoted to reflect on the piltoters collaboration process and their experiences with the COMENGA Toolkit, to continuing our intensive exchange as well as to network and further develop German-African project ideas. Additionally, we have organized some brilliant experts on issues such as funding, marketing and implementation.
The first workshop day will take at Tagungswerk Jerusalemkirche (Lindenstr. 85 | Berlin-Kreuzberg). After our more “private” workshop, there will be a public panel discussion on the chances and potential of German-African CSO collaboration in the evening. Have a look at the programme here.
The workshop will continue on Friday morning with a less formal structure and at a different location. It will take place here: IdeaCamp (Oranienstr. 85 | Berlin-Kreuzberg).
Afterwards you will also get a chance to participate at the fieldworks agrikulturforum Berlin Cotonou at the weekend – another offspring of COMENGA (have a look here). Feel free to register to get the free food vouchers.
